Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have given my semen sample for fertility analysis today. But the laboratory technician has advised me to come back with semen sample again after three days as the given semen sample was not liquifying. I am trying for a baby for about four months. Please suggest.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

The most common cause for having an increased liquefaction time are infection or dehydration. It usually takes less than 20 minutes for the semen to change from a thick gel to a liquid. Having a long liquefaction time may indicate an infection. So you may require a course of antibiotics and repeat sampling after three days for reassessment.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
