Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Our family member is having severe itching, redness, and weals. Previously it was only on arms and groin area. Now it has spread to the chest and abdominal area. He is currently on tablet Zempred, Ebast and Oriel M.

Please advise.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have reviewed the attached photograph (attachment removed to protect patient identity) and need to ask you few questions:

  1. What is the duration of the rash?
  2. Is he having any other ailments?
  3. Is he taking medication for some ailments apart from this?
  4. What is the dose of Zempred he is taking and for how long?
  5. Does he have a history of dry skin, eczema, hay fever, or asthma?
  6. Are these rashes persistent or do they disappear?

Kindly revert with the answers.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

It started on the 15th. He has taken only antiallergic. Zempred dosage is 16 mg OD. No other medications.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I have gone through your complaints and it seems to be an eczematous rash which will take some time to resolve. You can continue with Zempred 16 mg for another seven to 10 days. Along with this, ask him to apply Clobetasol propionate cream (Tenovate cream) diluted in a moisturizing lotion (Venussia lotion) in the ratio of 1:3 on the affected areas of the body. For itching, he can take tablet Hydroxyzine 25 mg thrice daily. This should improve his rash.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.
