Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have had high itching on both sides of my thigh for one year. The itching causes redness and bleeding. It is also present in my stomach and my skin has become black and red. Kindly suggest.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. The condition is known as tinea corporis or cruris, or dermatophytosis. It is a type of superficial skin infection. It can affect the groin, buttocks, or any skin area along with nails too. Here it seems you also have a secondary bacterial infection as well because of too much scratching. Use the following medicines for two weeks then follow up

1. Capsule Syntran-SB 65 (Itraconazole) twice a day after meals.

2. Cream Luliconazole apply once at night at the itchy lesions

3. Tablet Levocetirizine 5 mg twice a day after meals.

4. Tablet Cefadroxil 500 mg twice a day for five days, after meals.

5. Cream Tbact (Mupirocin) on the bloody area twice a day.

Keep your clothes including towels separate. Follow up after two weeks.

Thank you.
