Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have a skin condition, but I am really not sure what it is. My fingers have itchy skin, and I just noticed it last month. I have never had it before. I am unsure of how to get rid of it. I also have it on my arms, belly, and vaginal region, however, I am not certain whether they are all the same. Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

You are suffering from scabies, it is a disease caused by a mite. Please take the following medication and revert back to me.

  1. Apply Permethrin lotion, once weekly for two weeks.
  2. Take tablet Ivermectin 12 mg, once weekly for two weeks.
  3. Take tablet Levocetirizine 5 mg, once at night for one month.

Steps to apply Permethrin lotion:

  1. For skin and hair cleaning, take a shower or bath. Dry your skin completely.
  2. Be careful to cover all skin regions, especially the folds between the fingers and toes, underneath the nails, and on the genitalia, with a thin coating of Permethrin cream.
  3. Gently massage the cream into the skin, then leave it on for 8 to 14 hours.
  4. Wash the cream off completely with warm water and soap once the prescribed amount of time has passed.
  5. All clothing, linens, and towels should be washed in hot water and dried in a high-heat setting. To get rid of any lice or eggs, carefully vacuum the carpets and furnishings.

However, please consult a physician, discuss with them, and start taking the medications with their consent.

I hope this has helped you. Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Please clarify the time of day that I should take Ivermectine and Levocetirizine as well as whether or not they should be taken with meals. Also, is it best to shower and use Permethrin cream in the morning or evening? Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

Ivermectin and Levocetirizine both should be taken at night after meals. Permethrin should be applied at night after a bath only.

I hope this has helped you. Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
