Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I want to ask am an African and wish to if a Moroccan and an African have sexual intercourse, cause an allergic reaction, for if a Moroccan and note that all these two partners are safe, they are not sick with anything?
Please help.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
It is completely understandable to feel worried after noticing this kind of reaction, but from what you described, it does not sound related to race or nationality at all. Allergic reactions between two healthy people from different regions do not occur simply because of their backgrounds. The most likely explanation is that your partner may have had an allergic reaction to something used during intercourse, such as the condom material or lubricant.
Durex condoms often contain latex, and latex allergy can cause red or itchy bumps, hives, or a rash within a few hours after contact. Sometimes the reaction can also come from added lubricants, spermicides, or fragrances on the condom rather than the latex itself. If the rash is mild, over-the-counter antihistamines and gentle skin care may help, but if there is swelling, difficulty breathing, or worsening of the rash, he should seek medical care urgently.
For future use, you can try switching to non-latex condoms such as polyurethane or polyisoprene, which are less likely to trigger allergies. You do not need to feel alarmed about infection or race-related causes since this type of reaction is almost always due to an allergy or sensitivity to a product rather than to a partner.
I hope this helps.
Kindly follow up if you have more concerns.
Thank you.
