How to treat unbearable pain in the vagina during sex?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been married for seven months, but we are still unable to have sexual intercourse. I feel intense pain in the vagina during penetration sex. I feel unbearable pain due to vaginal stretching when he tries to enter his penis. He can hardly enter one to two inches. There is no infection inside my vagina, and everything is clear. I also experience orgasm when he stimulates me with every try, but I do not know why I am feeling this much stretching pain even after losing my virginity. Please suggest to me some medicine or anything for my problem. I have also used Xylocaine jelly 2 %, but it has not made any difference.

Kindly help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

The tightness of the vagina could be the reason for your problems. This can be treated properly with psychotherapy. Try to take a hot water bath before sex. This will help dilate the vaginal wall, making the penetration less painful. Progressive dilatation of the vaginal wall could be done with your husband's help. Ask him to insert a small finger first and then gradually progress to two fingers in some days. With time the problem will go.

Thank you.
