Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am having very mild pain in the tip of my penis. It is not causing any discomfort, rashes, burning while urinating, or bumps. It just feels off. I have had intercourse within two days of first noticing it. I was worried about the possibility of an STD. I did read in a previous response here it takes 4 to 5 days for STD symptoms to develop. I do masturbate, but not more than once a day. Should I be worried or wait or go get tested as soon as possible?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concerns. First of all, I would like to inform you that mild pain in the tip of the penis after vigorous sexual intercourse can be normal, and there is little to worry about if you had sexual intercourse after a long while. In case your sexual encounter was kind of regular one and no pain was perceived during, and immediately after sexual intercourse, the possibility of STI (sexually transmitted infections) is high, although not serious ones. In my opinion, at least get tested for complete blood count and urine microscopy rather than waiting for full-blown symptoms. In case both the above-mentioned reports appear normal, it will be better to wait for a few more days or weeks for a detailed assessment.

I hope this helps you. Feel free to write back to me if you have more questions.

Thanks and regards.
