Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have a sinus cold for two weeks. I have taken nasal spray. Now my right ear is plugged. How do I unplug it? Currently, I am taking Bupropion , Celexa, and Naproxen.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Sinus congestion or attacks of sinusitis can lead to a sensation of blocked ears as the congested sinus passages tend to block out the eustachian tube at one end. You can try steam with menthol inhalation three times a day, along with Budesonide nasal spray one puff in each nostril once daily for a week or two. As this is a steroid medication you may need to talk to your pharmacist about its availability over the counter in your country. These measures can clear up your sinus congestion which will also help your clogged ears to open up. If you have or develop fever, or if your symptoms worsen, you may require prescription antibiotics.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
