Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am starting a skincare brand for the middle-aged group (40 to 65). Should I use natural ingredients like aloe vera and honey or chemical-based ones like retinol and hyaluronic acid? Which option will be preferred by this age group more?
Kindly help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
As we get older, our body makes less collagen and elastin, which causes wrinkles, thinner skin, and dryness. Long-term sun exposure also damages the skin, leading to fine lines, dark spots, dullness, and other signs of aging. To fight aging, creams and moisturizers should include important ingredients like retinoids, epidermal growth factors, AHA, vitamin C, and hyaluronic acid.
Retinoids, a type of vitamin A, help produce more collagen, reduce wrinkles and dark spots, and improve skin tone. AHA (alpha hydroxy acid) gently removes dead skin cells, making the skin smoother and improving skin tone. Hyaluronic acid keeps the skin soft, smooth, and hydrated. Overall, retinoids and hyaluronic acid are the best choices for anti-aging skincare.
I hope you are satisfied with my answer.
