Do herpetic rashes come and go on their own?

Patient's Query

Hi,

I developed a rash that comes and goes. When I apply Canesten cream, it goes away in a few hours, but it comes back after masturbation. Can you diagnose my problem based on this information? Are these rashes due to herpes?

Answered by Dr. Aleph

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

Herpetic rash is due to the Herpes virus. It does not come and go. It stays there until it is managed. Also, Canestene cream would not work in herpetic rashes.

Your rash is most probably related to your physical gestures. It is probably due to some irritation. I suggest you use lubrication.

Please answer my few questions for further clarification-

1. Is the rash just located in one area?

2. What does the rash look like?

3. Do you have any other signs and symptoms?

4. Do you have any allergies?

5. Are you taking any medications?

Revert back with replies for further assessment.

Thank you.
