Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

There is a big skin rash on my calf and some small pox on some of the body parts. Rash is burning and itchy. I am currently applying aloe vera and Derimik OC plus cream.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have seen the photo attached (attachment removed to protect patient identity) and read your brief history, although I did not understand what you meant by smallpox, from the picture it looks like a blister beetle dermatitis/ Phaedrus dermatitis, which is an irritant dermatitis that caused due to the crushing of an insect containing a chemical called pedierin against the body resulting in this reaction. It is because of this chemical that the lesions are very burning for you. You can use tablet Cefadroxil 500 mg twice daily for five days (antibiotics to reduce the inflammation), Clonate G cream (Clobetasol propionate + Gentamycin) on the lesion at night for seven days, Fusidic cream for application in the morning and afternoon after thorough washing for seven days, Dermadew Caloe lotion (Calamine + Aloe vera) lotion morning and afternoon after the drying up of Fusidic cream in the afternoon, and tablet Paracetamol 500 mg twice daily for three days. Apply cold compresses of the area. Provided there are no prior allergies to these medications. Do not irritate the area by itching or self manipulation. Review after one week. I hope this helps.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
