Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have a circular rash on my inner upper left thigh. It does not itch, bleed, or blister. It is neither hot nor cold. The rash comes and goes and is best treated with Aquaphor Ointment. I think it might be Pityriasis Rosea, and I have pictures of it. I have a similar rash on my chest and breast, and I need help with a diagnosis if possible.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have seen the pictures (attachment removed to protect patient identity). Rash on your breast is not due to pityriasis rosea. Your skin condition has worsened due to intense itching (though I say your breast skin does not itch, and it has developed suddenly). But clinically, signs of itching and rubbing are present. Due to chronic rubbing, you have developed thickened lichenification of your skin. Please wash your clothes with hot water. Avoid contact with pets because chronic rubbing has been due to fungus in the background or intertrigo. Take capsule Fluconazole 150 mg once a week for six weeks, tablet Cetirizine 10 mg daily for three weeks. Mix Clotrimazole cream and Hydrocortisone cream and apply two times a day for three weeks.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
