Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have irritable bowel syndrome and suspected vitamin B12 deficiency and currently am not taking any medication. My right side of my tongue has become very sore and looks red and inflamed. On the same side, my wisdom tooth has grown in sideways but I can still talk and swallow without any problems. Please help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your query,

I have gone through your query (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity). The gingival health, the papillary health of the tongue and even the floor of the mouth health is severely impacted. This happens commonly in people who suffering from gastrointestinal conditions that can possibly predispose you to more serious oral lesions than the rest of the public. Does the wisdom tooth infection seems tolerable?

I wanted to know if you got any deep scaling done or any dental procedure? How long has your tongue been sore and inflamed, and when exactly did you discover these symptoms? When was your previous dental appointment?

I can give you a insight based on your timeline and help you prevent aggravating this inflammatory condition you have, because the oral health seems very concerning. I want you to please elaborate the timeline here so, I can discuss the non surgical remedies or strategies with you that you can follow on regular basis.

Please follow up for further assistance.

Thank you.
