Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a 23-year-old male who is 6 feet tall and weighs about 72 kg. I have speech problems that are difficult to speak and do not adequately express my ideas or feelings. I have a symptom like more saliva (hypersalivation) produced and drooling when sleep. This drooling of saliva is started in my childhood, which occurs during day and night, but when I grow up, saliva's drooling does not happen during day time or when I do some activity and occur only during sleep. Head coordination is also less. Please tell me the treatment and how to improve talking.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for getting in touch with us. I can very well understand that you are worried about your condition. What you are describing is very much consistent with a chronic neurological disorder. Therefore I strongly recommend you to see a neurologist who has to get a thorough examination. You do not need to be afraid; neurologists are normal medical doctors whose specialty is the human nervous system. The tests will not hurt you, but they are necessary. The excellent message that I have for you is that, since it is a chronic condition and seems not to worsen with age, you have a very good chance that a neurologist can help you, and do not need to fear in the future. I wish you good luck, and I am here for you if you need further assistance.

The Probable causes

Inborn neurological disorder.

Investigations to be done

*EEG. *MRI. *Transcranial sonography.

Probable diagnosis

Inborn defect of the nervous system.

Treatment plan

To be determined by the neurologist. Most likely speech therapy will help to some degree.

Regarding follow up

Any time you want.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
