Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My periods got over ten days back, but I started getting an itchy vagina and very thick white discharge from the next day onwards. After four days, I started bleeding again, but it was like spotting. After someone suggested, I did a pregnancy test, and it came out positive with a very light second line on the kit. Three days back, I did the test again, but it came negative. Meanwhile, my spottings continued. Yesterday, my periods started again. Kindly help me.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

The vaginal itching after cycles can most probably be a candidal infection. If it continues, you need to take antifungals. Was there a delay in this cycle (from your usual)? A weakly positive test, followed by a negative, is unlikely to be pregnancy. The spotting can be due to hormonal imbalance. Anemia, weight gain, hypothyroidism, stress, change in food, and exercise pattern can affect the cycle length and pattern. Also, get a speculum examination of the cervix to rule out local causes.

The Probable causes

Vaginitis, and hormonal imbalance.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
