Hello doctor,

I had sex during the first week of this month after which I noticed spotting two weeks later. I took a pregnancy test and it was negative, but I doubted that since my period date for this month is delayed. Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

As you had intercourse around your ovulation day so there are some chances of getting pregnant. There is a possibility that the spotting you got could be implantation bleeding.

Sometimes the at-home pregnancy test kit might show false results in the early days. So I would suggest waiting for 2 weeks after your due date even if periods would not come then do a urine pregnancy test. You can also confirm it by checking your blood hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) levels.

Hope this helps.

Thanks and take care.
