Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been trying to conceive for more the six months. Two days ago, my partner and I were having sex, and we noticed a spotting on the bedsheets. It was not much, just two small spots. I am ovulating, and I have very mild pain like cramps. Could this be a sign that I am pregnant, and would it be too early to do a pregnancy test as my period is not due for another week? Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for writing, and I understand your concern. Spotting is not a sign of pregnancy, but spots can be seen during ovulation. You can do a urinary pregnancy test anytime after unprotected sex. It will help to diagnose, if not you can go for HCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) level test, which is more confirmatory. So do a urinary pregnancy test and let you know.

If anything else please let me know. Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
