Stage IV cancer is also called metastatic cancer, which needs immediate medical attention. It is characterized by metastatic spread to different parts of the body and generalized lymph node involvement. Stage 4 cancer is often not fully treatable; increasing their life span and improving their quality of life is the purpose of treatment in these patients. Only in patients with mild metastasis surgery is advised; else, hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy, targeted therapies, and immunotherapies are suggested to delay the progression.
