Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

One week back, I had a body-to-body massage with a hand job at a massage parlor. Is there any risk of an STD?

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

The chances of transmission of HIV by a body-to-body massage are nil. Intact skin is an effective barrier to HIV. However, sexually trasmitted diseases like the herpes simplex virus can be transmitted if there are active lesions at the time of contact.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Are hand jobs and kissing safe?

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Thank you for the follow-up query.

The chances of transmission of HIV by a handjob are nil unless there are bleeding wounds on the hand. The chances of HIV transmission by kissing are almost nil unless there are bleeding wounds in the oral cavity. STDs like herpes simplex virus can be transmitted by kissing or skin-to-skin contact, and chances are higher if there are active lesions at the time of contact.

Thank you.
