Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have headache, body pain, discomfort, fatigue, and skin rashes after sleep which disappear after 30 minutes. I have had blood discharge from penis after sex. Please help.

Answered by Dr. Raveendran S R

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

From the images attached (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity), it looks like an allergy.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

What about the other symptoms doctor? Should I be concerned about STD (sexually transmitted disease)?

Answered by Dr. Raveendran S R

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Dryness may be due to infection or injury, improper foreplay, dehydration, age factor, deep penetration in a few positions during sex, phimosis, or hormonal imbalance. You can try the natural way by increasing foreplay to cause lubrication or can use lubricants like KY gel (consult with a specialist doctor, talk with him or her, and take medicines with their consent).

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I had protected sex with a sex worker before four years and was asymptomatic. I am married for the past five months. I and my wife have skin rashes, fatigue, headache, and body pain. Which tests should we undergo?

Answered by Dr. Raveendran S R

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

It has been four years, so you need not worry. The symptoms of STDs include skin rash, fever, and loose stools. I suggest the following tests;

  1. TPHA (treponema pallidum hemagglutination).
  2. Herpes simplex virus (HSV) IgG 1 and 2.
  3. Herpes simplex virus (HSV) IgM 1 and 2.
  4. Chlamydia trachomatis IgG.
  5. HIV 1 and 2 antibodies.
  6. HbsAg screening test.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Should I be concerned about infections other than STDs? After sex my wife got fever and swollen lymph nodes in the leg after a month. Should I consult a specialist?

Answered by Dr. Raveendran S R

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Swollen lymph nodes can be due to other reasons. Consult a doctor for general examination and routine blood tests.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Please suggest the tests.

Answered by Dr. Raveendran S R

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I have mentioned earlier. Rashes and fatigue may be due to vitamin deficiency.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

HIV 1 and 2 antibodies test is already done. Do we both need to go for testing? Please tell me the range for serum HSV. My wife has a sore lower lip. Is it related to HSV infection?

Answered by Dr. Raveendran S R

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Yes, both can take the tests. HSV can occur in lips and cause cold sores. HSV type 2 is sexually transmitted and affects the genitalia. The range of HSV antibodies differs from laboratory to laboratory. Review with reports.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

What is the best test for herpes?

Answered by Dr. Raveendran S R

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I got only the last page of the report.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

If you did not receive the reports. Can I send the reports? So that my query can be resolved.

Answered by Dr. Raveendran S R

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Chlamydia is positive for you. Herpes is positive for both if there is any visible skin issue. Need to start medication.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Herpes is positive for both. Which doctor should I consult? Please suggest. Do I need to worry much? And what prevention should I and my wife take?

Answered by Dr. Raveendran S R

Hi doctor,

You need to check with a dermatologist. Will check the skin and start antiviral medication.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Can dermatologists treat both herpes and chlamydia. Should a homeopathic doctor is best for herpes? Can I check with the homeopathic doctor?

Answered by Dr. Raveendran S R

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Yes, they can treat it.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am asking about a homeopathic dermatologist. Should it be a better choice?

Answered by Dr. Raveendran S R

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I suggest you to take allopathic medications.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I will check with the dermatologist. Please tell me the precautions me and my wife should take from getting a further diagnosis. What precautions should we take for preventing herpes and other diagnosis?

Answered by Dr. Raveendran S R

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Good to know soon as possible. Avoid sex if there is a skin issue. Already diagnosis is done by test.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Should we avoid sex when there is an outbreak of sore or another skin issue? What other precautions other than sex we can take?

Answered by Dr. Raveendran S R

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Yes, you are right about an open-skin rash. Avoid sex. The chance of infection is high. No another issue is - close contact can spread infection.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Any more precautions we can take?

Answered by Dr. Raveendran S R

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com

Other than close contact, exercise regularly and maintain a proper diet for better immunity. Relapse can be prevented if there is good immunity.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
