Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have severe stomach pain and a burning sensation in between my breasts that has been getting worse over the last week. I have FND, Tourette, PTSD, and ASD.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Stomach and chest burning is due to acidity when the stomach lining is disturbed, and hydrochloric acid produced in the stomach invades that lining and causes burning. It is due to many reasons, such as a sedentary lifestyle, smoking, alcohol, eating too much at one time, not eating regularly for a long time, fast food, fatty food, soft drinks, tea, coffee, sitting or lying down immediately after eating, having stress, etc.

I suggest you take Omeprazole 40 mg (one capsule half an hour before breakfast) for 1 month. Tablet Levosulpiride 25 mg (one tablet in the morning and night half an hour before a meal) for 1 month and syrup Gaviscon (Sodium Alginate, Sodium Bicarbonate, and Calcium Carbonate) 120 ml (2 tablespoons in morning, afternoon, and night half an hour after the meal) for 1 month. Please take the above-mentioned medications after consulting a specialist and with their consent.

Avoid irregular meals, take meals at regular intervals, do a daily walk for 30 minutes, avoid lying immediately after a meal, avoid stress, and avoid fast food, fatty food, and soft drinks. Try to avoid tea and coffee. Avoid alcohol and keep the head end of the bed elevated while sleeping.

If symptoms do not improve, then visit a gastroenterologist for detailed evaluation and management.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
