Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have been having stomach pains. The pain has been on and off and has been ongoing for the past seven months with each period lasting for two weeks. The pain is on the left side, but does move to the middle. This happens immediately after eating. I have lost weight and appetite. My stools are also runny and light in color. I have had blood tests done, but the only thing that came up was a high hemoglobin count. I would like to get an idea about it.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com. Stomach pain and watery stools are indicative of possible indigestion, and if these concerns persist for months, it may indicate a chronic condition that requires specific tests. Gut function disorders could be potential causes, so it's essential to check liver enzymes like SGOT, SGPT, ALT, and bilirubin, as well as pancreatic enzymes (amylase and lipase) in your blood. Enzyme deficiencies could contribute to chronic indigestion. Another possibility is functional gastrointestinal disorders, which could result from infections or food intolerances, making a stool test necessary. Stomach inflammation or peptic ulcers might also cause pain, nausea, and vomiting. To alleviate pain, I suggest Omeprazole, but it's crucial to consult your specialist doctor, discuss your symptoms, and obtain consent before starting any medication. Once we have all the results, a better diagnosis can be made, and an accurate treatment plan can be established. Take care.
