Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I was having a lot of stomach pain and nausea and went to urgent care they asked me to do a blood test and an H. pylori test. Both came back negative and I was told I have gastritis and to take Omzeprozole. But it seems to have gotten worse in the last few months. I feel it in my throat now and am suffering heartburn along with this. I seem to suffer no matter what I eat or the slightest amount of stress. What should I do?

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

What do you mean by clinical suspension of any disease being very low?

Answered by Dr. Ghulam Fareed

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Clinical suspension of any bad disease is low means-

1) The Chances of severe gastritis are low when you have already checked for H. pylori and it is negative.

2) Similarly, the chances of a large gastric ulcer or non-healing ulcer are low, as the H. pylori test is negative and you have not mentioned other risk factors like prolonged use of any medicine (eg. NSAIDs painkillers), which can cause severe gastritis or ulcers.

3) Your age is just 19 years, so clinically we do not suspect other bad conditions like prolonged chronic non-responding gastritis or gastric neoplasms in this age, especially when symptoms have a relationship with stress as well.

4) Yes, for persistent symptoms, even after stress management and following the above instructions, I would go for point 9 as mentioned above.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
