Are the dizziness and stomach pain after I drank pre-workout creatinine due to anxiety?

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

A few days ago, I barely ate anything since I slept badly, but I drank pre-workout creatine for the first time without any sugar. I do not like sugary stuff anyways. Then suddenly, I felt dizziness, stomach upset, fever, my heart pounding, and I got scared. I started shivering and had high beats; I tried not to faint that night; I could not sleep for maybe two to three hours. Then in the morning, we went to the hospital to see a doctor. I have got tested for COVID -19 which was negative. That whole day I had inner fever, dizziness, and my stomach hurt. I had a blood and EKG test, but everything was normal. Glucose was 6.7 mmol/L, white blood cells were high, and they said I got viral infection. Three days later, I had the same issue. I started to feel dizzy, shiver, and got scared; I had some burning sensation in my chest and stomach pain. What could be the issue? Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

These so-called protein powders that gym goers use cause abdominal (tummy) cramps and diarrhea. This is mainly because they are high in protein content. These proteins are derived from different sources. Everyone does not tolerate them. If you feel the same with protein powder can change your powder to another where protein is derived from a different source. And also, note that they must be consumed slowly and not in one go. It is natural to feel those symptoms that remain for a while and then stop. In such cases, all your blood reports, including ECG (electrocardiogram ), remain normal. Try to be calm and not overthink. It should be fine, as all parameters are normal. Take care.

I hope you find it helpful.

Kind regards.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have some underlying anxiety. Mostly I am scared of my death and think it about rarely at night when my mind is open, and I cannot sleep, making me cry and not do anything about it. I wanted to mention this since it was not protein powder I consumed before I got sick but rather pre-workout stuff containing 200 mg caffeine per serving. I consumed it on an empty stomach, and it did not work out in the end; I do not drink coffee or high caffeine value drinks. Is it possible that triggered this?

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Caffeinated drinks do not cause such symptoms. However, when consumed late at night, they may disturb your sleep. So it is best to consult your doctor and take medications for anxiety.

Kind regards.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
