Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

My mother is suffering from a motion problem. She is suffering from a long-term motion problem. In her stools, she is getting some lengthy white substances, some time she gets white balls in her stool. She is in bed because of her leg fracture. She is taking a tablet called Oflox oz (Ofloxacin and Ornidazole), which helps her in getting better.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have reviewed the case history of your mother (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity), and she is bedbound due to her leg fracture. To diagnose an infection in her stools or not, you should get a test known as stool detailed report; this can give an idea about infective versus a non-infective forms of loose stools. For now, encourage probiotics intake, either a commercially available sachet like one Ecotec (probiotic) sachet in the morning and one in the evening, or she can use regular yogurt (naturally occurring probiotics). If the stool is infective, she may need antibiotics; if the stool is not infective, she can use simple anti-diarrheal medicine.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
