Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have had severe chronic stress for the past two years. Even after reducing my stress, getting therapy, and improving my diet, I still have intermittent symptoms that cause extreme stress. I cannot drink coffee or alcohol as I have been getting symptoms for several weeks. Even waking up early can cause a flare-up of the symptoms again. I suspect there is something wrong with cortisol.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your query.

I understand your concern. You appear to have symptoms due to Helicobacter pylori infection and chronic gastritis unrelated to an endocrine disorder. After the H.pylori has been eradicated, you must continue treating your gastritis with Esomeprazole (antacid) for two to three months once eradication is done. I suggest you to follow a few instructions mentioned below.

  1. Take tablet Augmentin (antibiotic) 1 g twice daily for seven days.
  2. Take a tablet of Metronidazole (antibiotic) 500 mg twice daily for seven days.
  3. Take tablet Esomeprazole 40 mg once daily for one month.
  4. Try to eat bland home-cooked food, drink only tea with less decoction and milk, avoid alcohol and sleep well at night.

Kindly consult a specialist, talk to them and take medications with their consent.

I hope this has helped you. Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for your reply.

Can you tell me more about how H. pylori and gastritis are related to my stress symptoms? My stomach feels fine, and I have regular bowel movements.

Please answer.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

The stools are supposed to be normal in this situation. However, the associated effects with drinking coffee or alcohol can last for weeks, and the symptoms while waking up suggest acid peptic disease.

I hope this has helped you.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
