Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I had my lower wisdom tooth on the left side removed nine months ago. It was the first time that I underwent a wisdom tooth removal. I was fine for a month; however, I started having numbness and tingling sensation at the corner of my lip. I thought it would fade away on its own, but it is getting annoying with each passing day. Is this due to nerve damage or any other reason?

Kindly advise.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern and would be happy to help. Sometimes, the injection can be very close to the nerve, injuring it. Also, traumatic extractions that are time-taking can cause a nerve injury. Numbness is usually transient that subsides within two to six months as the nerve heals by itself. However, I suggest you take tablet Neurobion Forte (Vitamin B1 (Thiamine) 10 mg, Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin) 10 mg, Vitamin B3 (Nicotinamide) 45 mg, Vitamin B5 (Calcium Pantothenate) 50 mg, Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine) 3 mg, Vitamin B12 (Cobalamin) 15 mcg) once daily for one to two months, as it helps in faster healing of the nerves.

I hope this helps.

Kindly revert in case of further questions.

Thank you.
