Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have been suffering from swollen ankles and feet for several weeks. The ankle joints turned dark over time, and it is excruciating. The doctor assumed my blood was infected, and I was admitted for several days. I was given tablet Lizomac and several injections. I was temporarily relieved, but after I returned home, it was still the same and got extremely painful. My blood count is also silightly high. Could you please help me out with this? Thanks.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

Sorry to hear about your suffering.

Your symptoms are most likely due to cellulitis, which causes inflammation of the subcutaneous tissue (layer under the skin), causing redness and tender ankle.

The other possible causes include the following:

1. Varicose veins.

2. Ankle joint infection.

Please provide me with more details to reach the appropriate diagnosis.

1. Is it on one side or both?

2. Any pus discharge?

Please send me your CBC (complete blood count) blood test and some photos of your ankle and feet (which will be very helpful in determining the cause ).

I suggest:

1. Continue the medications you take.

2. Follow-up is required to confirm the diagnosis and to exclude any severe conditions.

Thanks, and wish you all well-being. Your feedback will be appreciated. For further advice, I would be pleased to receive your follow-up.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
