Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

My toddler accidentally injured his lower lip resulting in an injury on the inner lip, resulting in a mouth sore. In addition, the tooth near the injured area now has swollen, red gum. It also easily bleeds when brushed. What should I do?

Answered by Dr. Naveen Thomas

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

The tooth may have been traumatized and loose due to the fall. It is important not to touch the tooth to allow it to heal on its own. Consult a dentist if he cries in pain. Give only soft food for two days. It may be painful at the injured site. So I suggest giving Paracetamol or Mefenamic acid syrup 5 ml three times a day to reduce inflammation and pain.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
