Swollen Kidney

Swelling in the kidneys due to urine accumulation is known as hydronephrosis, involving one or both kidneys. A block in the ureters or an anatomical defect that hampers urine drainage causes it. Signs include fever, nausea, vomiting, abdominal and groin pain, pain and urge to urinate, and increased urination frequency. Surgical intervention is necessary in case of severe hydronephrosis.
