Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 29 years female. I guess that I might have scabies. But the lesion is not itchy and does not show any symptoms.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Scabies is a skin infestation caused by a mite called Sarcoptes scabiei.

The common sites of scabies infestation are the wrist, elbow, finger web space, genital organs, and armpit. It presents as bumps that are intensely itching, particularly at night, and scraping the lesion creates a furrow, and secondary infection could happen. In the picture you have attached, I cannot see anything with the lesion (attachments removed to protect the patient’s identity).

Since how many days you have the lesion?

Can you resend the picture with clearly visible lesions to analyze better?

The treatment of scabies (if it is the diagnosis of your skin lesion) is washing the clothes, bedding, towels, etc., in hot water. I suggest you apply Permethrin cream 5 % and massage the cream into the skin and wash off the cream after eight to ten hours by taking a bath.

I hope this helps you.

Thanks.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thanks for the reply.

The lesion is not itching. I have attached the pictures of my lesion.

Thanks again.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

If the lesion is not itchy, then scabies is unlikely diagnosis. It could be dermatitis due to some allergy. Since how many days is it present? What is your actual complaint or problem about the lesion?

In the first picture, I could notice few bumps above the elbow. Is that the lesion you are referring to in the picture as a cause of your concern?

Kindly give me the answers to the above questions.

Regards.
