Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have persistent tachycardia of 90 to 110 beats per minute. I do not have chest pain. Before five months and last month, I did EKG and went to the emergency. The results showed nonspecific T wave abnormality and tachycardia in the reports.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

There is a possibility of having plaque build up in the inferolateral part of the heart. It can cause reduced oxygen supply to that area of the heart causing tachycardia. This does not confirm the presence of ischemia. Please mention whether you have done a fasting lipid profile, history of heart disease, or hypertension, and diabetes in your family. You have mentioned the reason for visiting the emergency.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

I went to the emergency for having an upper respiratory tract infection presenting with a cough before five months. Before a month, I went to the emergency for having fatigue and fever that occurred after having a COVID-19 infection. I am attaching the reports of the EKG done before five months and done last month.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I am sorry to learn about your COVID-19 (severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2) diagnosis. I have gone through the reports (attachment removed to protect patient identity) and the changes are similar. There is a possibility to have ischemia. It means that you can have a reduced oxygen supply to that part of the heart and there can also be a fat build-up in some part of the heart. Your weight is 86 kilograms and your BMI (body mass index) shows that you are overweight. It increases the chances of getting coronary artery disease. I advise you to do a cardiac stress test, fasting lipid profile, and fasting blood sugar test. These tests will help you to provide a clear picture of your heart. The results will help us to provide you a better management.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
