Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am feeling fatigued, have COPD, and cough. The heart rate is very high. What could be the reason?

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your query.

I understand your concern.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I started having a cold, sore throat, and a little cough but I realized my heart rate increased a lot. Today my cold decreased a bit. Literally felt so weak till date until I had breakfast. As I mentioned my heart rate is very high while sitting standing walking. I am not anemic and my TSH is normal when I checked two months ago and vitamin D is low.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

You have symptoms of upper respiratory tract infection and viral pharyngitis. Fatigueness is one of the common symptoms of a viral cold. Do you have a fever? Are you taking any medications? What is the present pulse rate?

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have fatigue and body pains. I took Tylenol twice and taking honey for my cough, currently breastfeeding. Do I need to go to a doctor?

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

At present resting pulse rate is completely normal. Fatigueness, sore throat, sneezing, running nose, cough, headache, and mild fever are the common symptoms of a viral cold and any symptoms can present predominantly. I suggest you to follow a few things mentioned below.

  1. Take the tablet Paracetamol three times daily.
  2. Maintain adequate hydration as it is very vital to avoid fatigue.
  3. Do a lukewarm water gargle with a pinch of salt in it to soothe a sore throat.
  4. Wear a mask while breastfeeding and use a clean cloth in case you cough or sneeze.
  5. Take adequate rest.

I hope this has helped you. Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

The kids are sick for one week. As I mentioned by when sitting it is around 95 to 105 beats and when standing 110 to 120 beats and walking just one floor upstairs 130 to 140 beats. It was never like that three days before.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Fatigue can be explained due to viral cold. On lying heart rate is low and it increases on standing and walking but this much variation does not occur. The viral illness causes an increase in pulse rate due to increasing the temperature which may or may not manifest as fever. You can wait a day or two and please follow the above suggestion and try to maintain adequate energy drinks, a soft diet, water, and fruit juices which would help to normalize your present problem.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am trying my best to maintain hydration. My older daughter tested positive for flu yesterday. My sitting heart rate is 90 to 95 this morning. I am feeling a little fatigued in the morning compared to yesterday evening.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Sorry to hear that your daughter tested positive for the flu. Do not worry she would be alright. I hope flu medication has already been started. You should also test yourself.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Also my cough is more today than yesterday.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Is there any mucus discharge and what is the color of the mucus?

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I feel like there is a lot of mucous in my throat. The color is white and yellow. We did not get tested doctor because they told us that since our doctor has it. It is more than likely what we have is also flu.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

The color of the mucus is normal and you can take any over-the-counter cough syrup medication of 10 ml three times a day for 3 to 5 days. Maintain adequate hydration, bed rest, proper nasal care and take flu medications if you suspect positive for flu under the guidance of the doctor.

I hope this has helped you. Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
