Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My head is aching for almost five days now. I always take Paracetamol, and it goes away, but after 30 minutes it is aching again. Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

There are almost over 100 causes of headache but only about 5-10% of them are really troubling and may become severe. Well, to know the exact cause which is causing your headache I need some more history about your condition.

Are there any kind of stress you are going through? Has this happened before? Is there anyone in your family having history of migraine? Is the heaadche generalized or localized to any particular area of head? Are you under some medication? Have you checked your blood pressure? Is it normal?

Please let me know the above answers.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

I have stress at workplace for the past few days. And I experience this headache now only. Regarding family history, as far as I know, we do not have any history when it comes to migraines. And I have pain only in my forehead. I am not under any medication and my BP is 101 over 62.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

The symptoms which you have described it seems to be a primary tension headache of episodic nature. Usually, these types of headache should be relieved after taking Paracetamol but as you have already taken the drug and the headache has recurred again there is a little chance of you having an initial stage of migraine (probability is only 20-30%).

The factor at play here is the stress you are going through. I am going to prescribe some medications that you should take for now.

Take tablet Pantoprazole 40 mg (OD) and Naproxen 250 mg (BD). This will relieve you of your current headache. But for the permanent solution, you need to get addressed about stress management. If you seek further help regarding that, do get connected to me through the chat section.

Let me know about your condition after three days.

Treatment plan

Tablet Pantoprazole 40 mg and Naproxen 250 mg
