Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a 25-year-old woman having a positive result for pregnancy. I got my last period before a month. I tested for pregnancy last week and it showed a positive result. I did a pregnancy test several times and all the results showed me a positive result. Yesterday, I noticed some bleeding. During the first time, it was present only on my napkin and after that, some stains were seen in the toilet too. After few hours, I had some stains only on my napkin. Still, I have some slight spotting. I am having an appointment to consult the doctor. I want to know whether I am really pregnant or not. Please help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Spotting or bleeding in early pregnancy is a sign of threatened miscarriage. You need to consult a doctor soon. She can do a scan to check for pregnancy. As your previous cycles were regular, you seem to be around five weeks of gestation. So kindly consult your gynecologist as soon as possible. After doing the ultrasound, you can get Progesterone support. Take them under the guidance of your gynecologist.

Investigations to be done

You need to do an ultrasound for checking the viability in pregnancy.

Preventive measures

Avoid having sex till three months of pregnancy.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
