Thyroid Cyst

Thyroid cysts are fluid-filled cavities that develop in the thyroid. It results from degenerating thyroid adenomas. Usually, they are non-cancerous and contain solid components mixed with them. Large cysts can cause overproduction of thyroid hormones (hyperthyroidism), causing increased sweating, weight loss, and tremors, and smaller ones do not cause any symptoms. Taking radioactive iodine, anti-thyroid medications, and surgery helps in treating it.
