Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am supposed to have surgery to remove my thyroid due to papillary carcinoma. I have been monitoring it for two years and canceled surgery twice already as I feel fine I am more scared of the surgery than cancer. It is 2.4 cm on the right side with no sign of spreading. I am hoping for a lobectomy but that seems like it never really happens. I have had bradycardia and had my heart race due to mild cardiomyopathy so my biggest fears are probably that I will have palpitations or problems controlling my heart beat also that I may develop anxiety attacks or get parathyroids damaged and have low calcium for life. Kindly help. Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thyroid carcinoma in a male is always not to be taken lightly and papillary carcinoma is of the most dangerous variety. You should undergo the surgery rather than suffer from the problems of metastasis and local invasion. Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
