Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have replaced rice with millets in my diet. My T3 levels have increased from 0.8 mg/dL to 0.98 mg/dL, T4 has reduced from 6.05 mcg/dL to 5.94 mcg/dL and TSH has reduced from 3.10 mIU/mL to 2.57 mIU/mL. Initially, I was using 150 mcg Thyronorm tablet, and gradually reduced it to 125 mcg, and currently, I am using 100 mcg. I want to further reduce the dosage to 75 mcg through diet.

Kindly suggest.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern and will surely help you out.

I suggest you use tablet Thyronorm 88 mcg (Levothyroxine) daily and recheck the TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) and Free T4 (Thyroxine) after six weeks. Then, you can switch to 75 mcg if TSH is within the normal range. There is no need to check TSH before six weeks. However, 150 mcg is a very high dose as your weight is only 116 lbs. For how long do you have a thyroid disorder?

I hope this helps.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for the response.

I am attaching the reports for your reference.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Considering everything, I recommend 88 mcg dose of tablet Thyronorm and rechecking TSH and Free T4 after six weeks. The dose is acceptable for your weight. However, you may need a dose of up to 125 mcg during pregnancy.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.
