Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 55-year-old male. Ever since I can remember I have been able to retract my foreskin fully, all the way to the base of my penis. I have always had a problem with the phimotic ring once it passes the head of my penis it is very, tight around the shaft of the penis which can be somewhat painful when the penis is fully erect. Is there any way to treat the phimotic ring to make it less rigid and more elastic? So, when it is around the girth of the shaft, it is not too tight.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

By your description, it is clear that you have phimosis along with tight frenulum, which causes the pain during erection and difficulty in retracting the foreskin. It can be easily treated by circumcision, which is a day care procedure. However, you need to undergo an evaluation to rule out diabetes, as phimosis is associated with diabetes and it needs to be treated by medication before surgery. At present, there is no medication to increase the elasticity of the foreskin.

The Probable causes

Phimosis with the tight frenulum.

Investigations to be done

RBS (random blood sugar).

Treatment plan

Circumcision.
