Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 18 years old and have a red and swollen urethral opening and some red patches. I am not sexually active. I had trouble retracting the foreskin as a child. What could be the reason?

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your query.

The redness over the tip of the penis can occur due to repeated friction. This is normal and is seen more in individuals with a tight foreskin. Since you are not sexually active, I do not think this will pose any problem. But I suggest you gradually retract and pull back the skin 8 to 10 times a day so that this becomes naturally dilated. If the tightness persists, get yourself checked, and if needed, circumcision should be done.

I hope this has helped you. Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
