Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I experienced difficulty in retracting the foreskin and pulling it down over the penis head (mild phimosis). With difficulty, I managed it for ten minutes to do this for nightly to clean the penis. I wish to avoid circumcision and understand the application of Lignocaine gel will help. Should I apply it on penis gland or head or on top of the foreskin?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern about your symptoms. The application is a local anesthetic. Wherever you have pain when you retract foreskin (mostly skin will have pain), you can apply Lignocaine. You cannot apply Lignocaine inside of your foreskin since you have phimosis. So the external application is only possible. Considering your age, kindly rule out other causes of phimosis. Keep blood sugar under control and take antibiotics and apply the local moisturizing gel.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
