Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have a master's degree and recently I have been having difficulties managing day-to-day tasks. I need to find out if I have a learning disability and how best to manage this issue.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com. What sort of difficulties are you facing in managing your day to day tasks? Are they only related to reading or also involve any complex mechanical activities? Have you ever had a reading disability? The best way to manage this issue will be first diagnosing what is that you are suffering from and then consult a specialist for the same.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

For diagnosis, do you recommend I see a general physician? I did not know if there is an assessment that can be done as well. I have difficulties with getting all my tasks done. In addition, I sometimes find it hard to read and comprehend what is being asked upfront. I try to get tasks done quickly and find minor errors. I just want to find ways to manage the problem.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com. A general physician might not be the right choice. Please try and meet a neurologist first because before finding ways to deal with your problem we first have to diagnose what exactly it is. Some possible causes are: 1. Lack of attention. 2. Memory disturbances. 3. Difficulty reading. 4. Low mood. 5. Anxiety. 6. Thought blocks. Because generally reading or writing disorders do not present at this age they are seen at a very early age. I would suggest you consult a psychiatrist if no neurological problem is detected.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
