Hello,
I have had severe itching in my pelvic and groin area for two years. The skin in this area has now become darker. Whenever I scratch, the skin first turns red and then darker.
Please help.

Please see the attached image of the itchy area. I used Candid cream, Terbigen cream, and tablets, but it did not help.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
I got the pictures you shared (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity).
From the images, I got the impression that you have tinea cruris, a type of superficial fungal infection. I suggest you use the following medications for two weeks. Take Capsule Onitraz 100 mg twice a day, Tablet Levocetirizine 5 mg twice a day, use Lulirx Cream (Luliconazole) apply twice a day to the affected area, use Ketofine (Ketoconazole) soap. You must wash your undergarments with hot water. You must keep your towel and soap separate from other family members. I suggest you follow up after two weeks. Do not stop the treatment without advice.
Take care.
Thank you.
Hello,
I have cured some itching with the above medicine, cream, and soap. Thank you, doctor. I have another issue. I have developed itching on my back, ear, side of the face itching, and scalp, which are not entirely going by the above medicines. My ear has become dark due to itching. Please see the attached image. Doctor, please suggest a method for a complete cure of itching and dark spots after itching.
Please help.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern. It looks like tinea corporis, the superficial fungal infection you had earlier. I suggest you take the following medicines. Take Syntran-SB (Itraconazole) capsule 65 mg twice a day and Tablet Bilast (Bilastine) 20 mg once a day. Use Fungicros cream (Amorolfine and Phenoxyethanol) apply twice a day. I suggest you follow up after two weeks and get your LFT (liver function test) done.
Take care.
Thank you.
Hi doctor,
I think my itching is cured. I have taken medicines as you suggested. Shall I continue medication further or stop them now? LFT is not done yet. Once it is done, I will send you the reports. Please suggest medicines to remove the black color of the skin.
Please help.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern. Good to know that your condition has improved. But I suggest you continue all medicines for two more weeks as it might come back if medications are stopped too early. But to continue Itraconazole, you must get your LFT (liver function test) done first. Keep applying the cream for a couple of months, even after complete improvement. The pigmentation because of fungal infection will go slowly with this cream only. I also suggest you get your fasting lipid profile, thyroid profile, and fasting blood sugar done, as that might also lead to additional pigmentation around the neck, axillae, side of the face, and skin tags.
Take care.
Thank you.
Hello doctor,
LFT test done. What to do?
Please help.
Hello,
You can continue taking the medicines.
Please review after 2 weeks.
Take care.
Thanks and regards.
