Tinea Incognito

Tinea incognito is a fungal infection affecting the skin. Its clinical appearance gets altered by using topical immunosuppressive agents. It is often caused due to topical steroids. Patients with HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) infection, diabetes mellitus, and persons taking immunosuppressive agents have a high risk of having it. It presents as a flat scaly rash and then becomes a circular lesion with a raised border. It is treated by taking antifungal medications.
