Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am attaching the photo of the affected area for your reference. I have severe itching in the back of my thighs, buttocks, and around my genital parts. There is a reddish round shape allergy and bumps on the affected area. The itching in this area is so bad, and I am having itching in other parts of my body too, but there is no round shape or reddish color in other areas. I tried using Candid-b ointment in the affected area, but it is not going away. It has been more than six months since this started. Kindly help me.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have seen the picture attached (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity). It is tinea, also known as dermatophytosis, a type of fungal infection. Stop Candid-B cream (Clotrimazole with Beclometasone), as it has steroids and will only worsen this condition. I suggest you take the following medications. Take Capsule Canditral (Itraconazole) 100 mg twice a day, Tablet Levocetirizine 5 mg twice a day, Tablet Vermact (Ivermectin) 12 mg twice a week (Take one tablet today and repeat it next week, on Monday), use Cream Lulifin (Luliconazole) apply once at night on the round lesions and Candid (Clotrimazole) soap. Also, wash your bed sheets and clothes in warm water once. Keep your towels and soap separately. Avoid Candid B or any other cream. And get your LFT (liver function test) done. I hope this was helpful.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
