Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

My right side tonsil is swollen and red. I have taken two to three days of antibiotics before seven days, but they are still reddish compared to the left one. It shows some swelling. There is no heavy pain, but I feel irritating.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

  • Can you please tell me which antibiotics you were taking and what is the dose?
  • Is it possible to get a picture of the tonsils?

Then only I can prescribe you the medicines accordingly.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for your reply.

I took Althrocin 500 mg for four days, two tablets daily morning and evening.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I have got the picture (attachment removed to protect patient identity). I have checked that there is mild inflammation, which can be mainly due to bacterial infection. And since Althrocin is not helping. I would suggest you stop that. And start taking,

  • Tablet Augmentin (Amoxicillin and Clavulanic acid) 400 mg twice a day for the next five days after the meal.
  • Tablet Multivitamin 500 mg once a day.

And sometimes, due to antibiotics, your abdomen may get upset and cause symptoms like acidity. So, in that case, take,

Take this treatment and let me know after five days. And if you smoke, please avoid smoking. Also, drink lukewarm water will help you to clear your mouth. Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
