Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am suffering from tonsilitis for the past two weeks. I took tab E-Mycin 500 mg twice a day to cure it but white streaks remain on my tonsils. I want to ask when will they go.

Hi,

Welcome to iCliniq.com.

The presence of white streaks on the tonsils after tonsillitis indicates that there is some residual infection or inflammation present. If the symptoms of tonsillitis have subsided but the white streaks persist, then I will recommend you have a follow-up consultation with your doctor or concerning ENT specialist to determine the cause and if any further treatment is required. Although there is another cause of white streaks, the residual tonsillar tissue or debris can also lead to white streaks, but along with it other secondary bacterial infections or throat infections are also present.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
