Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I recently had several cavities filled at the right-hand side of my mouth. Since the procedure, my gums have been severely inflamed and painful. It has been about five days since the procedure, and it has only worsened. I can no longer eat from that side of my mouth and have trouble speaking. It is swollen and inflamed, and I have been given Celexa for the same.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

It seems your gums are coming in between teeth while chewing. It will go away in a week or two when the gums withdraw from above the tooth due to constant irritation. You can use warm salt water gargle twice a day for a week and an anesthetic gel for pain relief.

If it does not go away after more than two weeks, go back to your dentist for a minor surgical removal of this overlying gum.

I hope this information will help.
