Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a female of 18-year-old, height 150 cm, and weight 170 kg. I have been having tooth pain for the past three days. It hurts while swallowing and have bad breath. I am currently taking Acetaminophen, Codeine, and Amoxil.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Your medications are on point, but which tooth is paining exactly. From which segment, upper or lower tooth, are you having pain? Please let me know.

You can start first with lukewarm salt water rinsing several times a day for up to 10 days. I suggest using a

1) Chlorhexidine mouthwash twice daily for up to three months.

2) If you suspect any oral ulcers, you can apply Benzocaine and Lidocaine combination gel or Dentogel (Choline Salicylate 8.7 % and Lidocaine 2 %) or Metronidazole oral gel for relieving the symptoms.

Regarding tooth pain, you might have an impacted or a decayed tooth, so my diagnosis will depend on the region and your symptoms that need elaboration further. You can ask me further doubts. But pain killers cannot be continued more than a week as they will have detrimental effects. Amoxil is fine.

Regards.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for the reply.

I have lower tooth pain.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

If it is lower tooth pain ànd from the back region that is the end part of your jaw, then such acute pain may be caused because of wisdom tooth impaction, or the other probability is that it would have been decayed enough to go for a root canal treatment. So, if you are specific in enclosing the picture of the molar or premolar tooth, that is hurting you, I can suggest the appropriate treatment you need to get done at your nearest dentist or endodontist, i.e., root canal specialist, or surgeon in case of wisdom tooth extraction. Please follow all instructions mentioned and do not ignore the tooth infection. If you can elaborate further specifically on which tooth is paining, I can help you out better.

Regards.
