Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have had extreme pain on the left side of my gums and molar tooth for the past one week. I can feel the pain in my ear also. I have taken a Mefenamic acid tablet for pain relief, but no effect.

Kindly suggest me a solution.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I went through your query and understood your concern.

I saw the attachment, and I cannot give you a final diagnosis; whether there is caries or any other infection, as it is not clear (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity). However, an X-ray will be quite helpful in providing a definitive diagnosis. So, I suggest you to follow the instructions mentioned below,

1. Take Ketorol-DT (Ketorolac Tromethamine) or Sumoflam (Serratiopeptidase, Paracetamol, and Nemusulide), which will help in relieving pain.

2. Also, warm water and salt mouth rinse will help clean and irrigate the area if there is food lodgement.

3. Please make an appointment with a dental surgeon as soon as possible. Subsiding pain will not last long; if there is any infection, it should be cleaned and treated properly.

Kindly consult a specialist, talk to them and take the medications with their consent.

I hope my answer was helpful.
